First day of 2nd grade!

Ren Faire

Fun day at the Rennaissance Faire! Of course Muffin had to get the full beauty treatment, with face painting and hair braiding! Plus she got to meet Maid Marian, Robin Hood and all the Merry Men.

NYC visit

We went to New York City to see the Harry Potter exhibit, and to visit Times Square. We got to ride on the Ferris Wheel inside the Toys R Us store, and we had dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner where the waitstaff sang as they served. We all had a blast!

Birthday beach day

We went to the beach on Muffin's actual birthday. We had so much fun that were planning a repeat trip.

Birthday party!

Muffin had a blast at her birthday party with her friends. Nonstop running!

Dance recital!

Our flight to Florida was delayed SIX hours, poor Muffin was so tired of waiting that she took a nap on the most comfortable place she could find in the airport- ME!
Poor honey, she was a trooper and hung in there until we finally arrived at 5 am!

Green Eggs and Ham

Muffin's been reading a lot to me lately, which has been wonderful to listen to. Last couple of nights she has been reading to me from the Dr Seuss "Green Eggs and Ham" book, and we were having lots of fun with the rhyming. So since it was bedtime, I made up a rhyme that had her in stitches, and had Muffindad rolling his eyes:   Dad-I-Am, Dad-I-Am Come to bed oh Dad-I-Am Come to bed and you will see How cozy comfy you will be.

Questions about God

Bathtime for Muffin is typically play-acting time with Mami. Not last night! Instead, she started to quiz me on Heaven and God - Will God take care of us, will he give us things to do so we don't get bored, will he give us blankets in winter? And my favorite question - after we go to heaven, do we get to come back to earth again?


WHERE in the world is she getting these questions???


Back when she was learning to go potties, out of the blue she asked me (while seated on the potty) if God loved us. I said "Yes of course he does" . So she asked if we go live with him when we die. I said "yes". To which she answered  -so he wants us to go live with him? I don't want to die!!! And she proceeded to burst into inconsolable crying!! I had to try and hug and comfort her WHILE STILL SEATED in the potty!! LOL!


Don't know if I should be worried or not on this interest in God's mysterious ways, LOL!

Tooth Fairy?

Eeck, she's growing up too quick too fast! Last night she asked me if I was the tooth fairy, because a classmate told her he'd heard his parents putting the money under his pillow when he'd lost a tooth recently. PANIC? Naah, I just calmly denited it and told her I did not put on any wings and shrink myself, and that I had no use for her teeth. And, I wasn't lying! Since its not me who puts the money under her pillow (and if you can't guess who I'm not gonna tell you LOL!) I'm just afraid that our Santa days are probably numbered, hope we get at least one more Christmas before she realizes the truth... and I guess I should be happy that she's not smart enough to figure out she could try and milk things longer.

Two front teeth!

Yep, Muffin is officially missing her two front teeth, and she doesn't want the Easter bunny to bring them. And she's also missing a bottom tooth... Poor tooth fairy is going to go broke!

Wizards

Since Muffin is more than 6.5 yrs old and absolutely loves wizards and magic I thought she might be ready to watch the first Harry Potter movie. Was she ever! She was enthralled, it was wonderful to see how much she was enjoying watching how Harry discovered he was a wizard.

And she now wants to be Hermione for Halloween - ya think she liked the movie? LOL!

Muffin wanted a dreamcatcher but not just any - she decided to make her own! Isn't it pretty?

Tooth number 4!

Muffin lost her first top tooth! In the middle of dinner she stopped eating, reached for the tooth and just pulled it out. Brave girl! And of course now we have a toothy smile, and two new shining dollar coins from the tooth fairy. Loving her new smile!
